We have had two teachers from China visiting our school over the last five weeks. One of them, Angela, came to our class and talked about her life in China. She showed us how to use chopsticks - we tried to pick popcorn up and it was tricky! Then she spoke about how paper cutting was important in China and red is a lucky colour. We tried to fold and cut paper patterns too.
We read a book called Baby Bear's Quilt. We used collage to make our own quilts using lots of paper squares. We had to think hard about the patterns that we were making but they looked amazing when we had finished!
On Thursday 5th June Blake Room had a 'Wheels Day'. We have been talking about simple machines like levers, inclined planes, pulleys, screws and wheels. We brought our bikes, scooters and skate boards. We had such a lot of fun!
We are using our 'question' paddles at writing time.
